2018-02-14 0 commentsGLONASS is an acronym which stands for Global Navigation Satellite System in Russian and it is basically Russia’s response to the US GPS system. While currently the GPS has way more accurate coverage globally, GLONASS is planning to build up 50 more satelites in the near future. Currently GLONASS operates 24 satellites and provides global coverage. With the 2018 release of GLONASS K2 system it promises a more accurate coverage than it currently does. The satellite system is operated by the Russian Federal Space Agency. While GPS is unquestionably more practical to use now, it’s a good question how much will GLONASS develop in the upcoming 5 years.
